Ingredients of Sweet and Sour Pork

  1. You need 8 oz of lean pork.
  2. Take 1 of garlic clove, smashed.
  3. You need 1⁄2 of green pepper, cut into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Make ready 1⁄2 of onion, cut into bite-sized pieces.
  5. You need 2 of small tomatoes cut into wedges.
  6. You need 8 oz of canned pineapple chunks, drained, reserving liquid.
  7. You need As needed of Oil for deep frying and for stir-frying. I use Peanut Oil.

  9. You need 1 of beaten egg, use 1/2 for the marinade, discard the rest, or save, whatever.
  10. It’s 1 tbs of soy sauce.
  11. Make ready 1 tbs of rice wine vinegar.
  12. You need 2 of 1⁄2 tbs cornstarch.
  13. It’s of Cornstarch for dredging the pork.

  15. Make ready 3 tbs of rice wine vinegar.
  16. Make ready 2 tbs of brown sugar.
  17. Take 1 tsp of tomato paste. I use the type in a tube.
  18. Make ready 1 tbs of ketchup.
  19. Take 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce.
  20. Take 2 tsp of soy sauce.
  21. Take of reserved pineapple juice.
  22. You need 2 tsp of cornstarch.

Sweet and Sour Pork step by step

  1. Cut pork into bite-sized pieces and add to the marinade. Let sit for at least 30 minutes. Heat deep fat oil to 380f. Dredge pork in cornstarch and put into oil for about 2 minutes, drain..
  2. Just before cooking the vegetables, refry the pork @410f until lightly browned.
  3. Mix sauce ingredients.
  4. Put some oil in a wok and stir fry garlic until brown; remove.
  5. Add green pepper and onions and stir fry until tender-crisp.
  6. Add sauce mixture and stir until thickened.
  7. Add pork, tomato, pineapple, and heat. Serve over rice.
