Kanya 's Salt and Peppers Squids Recipe. Cantonese Salt and Pepper Squid recipe is similar to fried calamari but are tossed in a mixture of crunchy stir-fried garlic, ginger, and hot green peppers. When I perfected the recipe for fried calamari, it was a total no-brainer to make this Cantonese Salt and Pepper Squid.

  1. Take 3 large of squids,clean ,cut into half an inch thick.
  2. Take 1/3 tsp of salt.
  3. Prepare 1/3 tsp of ground black pepper.
  4. You need 1 tsp of crushed coriander seeds ,optional.
  5. Take 1/2 cup of flour.
  6. Make ready 1 of egg.
  7. Take 1/3 cup of cold soda water.
  8. You need 6 clove of garlic.
  9. Take 12 of hot peppers ,green and red color.
  10. It’s 1 of oil enough to fry.
  11. It’s 1/2 tbsp of sesame oil.

  1. Clean and cut squids into half an inch thick,mix flour batter in the bowl add flour,eggs ,salt ,pepper,coriander seed ,and slowly add cold soda water ..to your preference consistency ,not too thin,not too thick ,dip squids in.
  2. Deep fry squids until turn golden.
  3. Roughly chop garlic and hot chili ,mixed.
  4. In the pan add little oil ,enough to stir fry garlic and chili until light brown ,add squids ,stir to mix ,add sesame oil,heat off..when you heat off the garlic must turn to beautiful golden color..enjoy this as snack or super snack or with rice :).
