Ingredients of Beef Stroganoff
- You need 400 grams of Beef fillet steak.
- Take 2 tbsp of Plain flour.
- You need 50 grams of Butter.
- Prepare 1 of Onion, thinly sliced.
- You need 1 of Garlic clove, minced.
- Prepare 250 grams of Button mushrooms, sliced.
- Prepare 1 cup of Beef stock.
- You need 3/4 cup of Sour cream.
- You need 1 tbsp of Sweet Worcestershire sauce.
- Make ready 1 1/2 tbsp of Tomato paste.
- You need 1 tsp of Smoked paprika.
- Prepare 1 of Sea salt & cracked black pepper to taste.
- Make ready 1/4 cup of Chopped fresh parsley.
In a large skillet, quickly brown them on both sides in the olive oil and butter.Remove the steak from the pan.Add the onion slices and mushrooms to the pan drippings.Sauté for a few minutes, until the onion is tender.
Beef Stroganoff instructions
- Dust beef strips in flour, shake off any excess. Melt half the butter in a large fry pan and cook beef in batches until seared all over. Remove and set aside..
- Add the rest off the butter and fry onion and garlic until softened..
- Add mushys and cook for a further 2 or 3 minutes..
- Stir in beef stock, paprika, tomato paste and worcestershire sauce. Season with sea salt and cracked black pepper and allow to simmer for 5 minutes or so- sauce will thicken slightly..
- Return the beef (with any juices) and stir in sour cream and simmer for another minute. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve on pasta or rice. Enjoy!.
