- For rice: Soak rice for 20 min minimum and then wash nicely so that all starch will come out..

- For Dal : sak dal.for 30.min and wash nicely.
- After 30 min put it in a pressure cooker with 1 1/2 cup of water and cook till 4 whistle..
- Once done with the pressure to ve released..
- Open cooker and churn the dal.witj whisk so that it will not separate from water..
- Lets prepare tadka: add ghee or refined oil in a tadka pan.
- Once hot add dry chilli whole, cumin seed,mustard seeds and asafoetida..
- Once aroma starts coming switch off gas, add dry chilli powder, lil coriander and add to dal cooker immediately..
- Mix nicely. Add Amchoor/dry mango powder if you want a lil tangy taste as we have not added tomatoes..
