Chilli Paneer step by step
- Take paneer in a bowl, add 1 cup lukewarm water to it and leave it for 5-6 mins so that paneer becomes soft..
- Take the paneer out of water and cut it into square pieces..
- Now add 2 tbsp cornflour and 1 tbsp all purpose flour, add salt and pepper and 1 tbsp soy sauce. Mix everything well with paneer so that it gets coated with flour and soy sauce. Now keep the marinated paneer aside..
- For making chilli sauce - take 4 dry chillies and soak it in 1/4 cup water for 5-6 mins.
- Now add 1 inch ginger, 1 tbsp garlic, 1 tbsp roughly chopped onion and 2 tbsp ketchup to the water with chillies. Now blend everything in a mixer to get a smooth sauce..
- For making corn flour paste - take 1 tbsp cornflour and add 1 cup water to it, mix well and set aside..
- For final cooking - heat the pan, add 4 tbsp oil, then add marinated paneer and shallow fry till it turns golden and crispy. Take out the paneer in a bowl..
- Continue using the same pan, now add 2 tbsp garlic, 2 finely chopped garlic and ginger. Sauté it for 10-20 secs..
- Now add diced onion, sauté for few mins till it becomes soft..
- Now add diced capsicum, you can also add red and yellow bell peppers if you want..
- Now add 1 tbsp white vinegar, then 1 tbsp soy sauce, then add the chilli sauce we have made. Mix everything well. Let it cook for a minute..
- Now add cornflour paste to thicken the gravy. Stir well so that lumps are not formed..
- Add water to maintain the consistency of the gravy.(optional).
- Now add paneer and mix well. Then add chopped spring onion..
- Cool everything for 5-6 mins so that paneer absorbs flavour of sauce..
