Hello everybody, welcome to our recipe page. Today I’m gonna show you how to make a special dish, Sambhar. This is one of my favourite food recipe, this time i’am gonna make it a little bit tasty. This is gonna really delicious.
Sambhar Recipe. A slightly thin sambhar is served with idli, dosa and medu vada. Medium to thick consistency sambar is served with steamed rice.
You can cook Sambhar using 14 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you achieve it.
Ingredients of Sambhar
- Prepare 1 cup of tuar dal or pigeon pulse.
- Take 2 cup of mix veg chopped in cubes( carrot,drumstick, bottle gourd).
- It’s 1 tbsp of imli (tamarind)pulp.
- Make ready 1 tsp of grated Jaggery.
- You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Take 2-3 tbsp of sambhar masala(I used homemade).
- Take As needed of Curry leaves.
- Take 1 tsp of rai(mustard seeds).
- Take 1/4 tsp of asafoetida.
- You need to taste of Salt.
- Prepare As needed of Oil for Tempering.
- Make ready 3-4 of whole red chilli.
- You need as needed of water.
The overall nutrient factor of Sambhar also depends upon your choice of vegetables.Every household has its own recipe for making this scrumptious lentil stew.Some like to have big chunks of vegetables, while some prefer to have smaller ones.Some like theirs to be of a thick consistency, while others like it to be more on a liquidy side.
Sambhar instructions
- First wash and soak tuar dal for 20_30 min..
- Now place dal in cooker add salt and turmeric powder. And cook funtil 3/4th done..
- Now open the lid and vegetable, chilli powder and sambhar masala cook another 2 whistle.let it cool open the lid and add imli and Jaggery cook for 1 boil..
- Take a Tadka pan add oil warm it add Curry leaves, whole red chilli mustards seed,asafoetida temper it on cooked sambhar..
- Tasty sambhar is ready to serve with z idi dosa and appe..
